I really liked The X Files: I Want to Believe. It did not suck for me. Chris Carter seems to have gotten over his pretensions and concluded the story that I started watching years ago.

And the visuals over the end credits … well, I may be reading too much into them, but ( tiniest of spoilers )

Last night, Troy was on. I'd never seen it. Still haven't, but I saw parts of it. Along with the pretty costumes and stilted language, there was an amazing fight scene between Achilles (Brad Pitt) and Hector (Eric Bana). I forgot one other thing about Miller's Crossing that made me shake. The killing of the Dane, because it tore his killer apart and he stayed loyal to his own, but cast doubt upon himself wanting to treat Tom as though he wasn't loyal, which he wasn't. ::sigh:: ::shake ( Read more... )

I've just seen Miller's Crossing for the first time and I'm vibrating with shock, adrenaline, awe and I don't know what else. Here's why:

1. It's violent.
   
2. The talking is fast and the plot is convoluted; one must concentrate on this movie.

1. I am over Hex because
   • The fight of good vs. evil should not come across as a betrayed girlfriend out for revenge.
   • I cannot see Hex as a coming-of-age story when the protagonist only looks 17 but is actually 441 and there are no parental surrogates about. (This may be the fault of marketing not of the writers.)
